Not so Great

So I met with dr. Tata's yesterday. She said the baby's head is measuring big. I had the most recent ultrasound at 32 weeks and she said the head was measuring 35-36 weeks.
This could be very bad. Water on the brain.
This could be nothing. Just a big noggin.
But she's sending me to a high risk ob for a level 2 ultrasound.
There were lots of tears last night, and it was one of the most sleepless nights I've had. DH was great and feels the same way I do...scared but still holding out hope. DH does have a large head. At the optomitrists office he can only pick from a few types of glasses because they don't make them in his size.
We don't want to tell anyone IRL until we have something to share, but I'm supposed to have my high risk appointment this week - it's just that it was 5:30 by the time I left Dr. TaTa's office so the other office was already closed.
Would you pray for me family? It's weird to be so close and having a shower in a few weeks, but then thinking that the worst case scenario really is a worst case scenario.
My heart is heavy.

I've never commented before but this may make you feel better, I don't know. My baby also had a large head, so big in fact that I had to get a c-section because she wouldn't fit down my birth canal. She was born 7 pounds and the doctor said her head was the size of a typical 9 pound baby. And I'm proud to say she just had a big noggin. Absolutely nothing is wrong with her brain. I hope this gives you some possible peace of mind, either way your family will be in my prayers.

I've never commented before but I thought I would share my experience. I had my baby boy last May. During my pregnancy I had many ultrasounds because I kept measuring big for how far along I was. It turns out that I had a lot of amniotic fluid. Anyways, during one of the ultrasounds they saw that my son had short femur bones and it appeared he had flatter bridge in his nose than normal. My doctor said he could have down syndrome. As you can imagine, I cried for a few days. Then we were able to talk to a high risk OB and ask what he thought. He said they no longer consider those factors very heavily with down syndrome. We still didn't know though and they told us to just wait and see since we were so close to his birth. He ended up being totally fine! He is a healthy, happy little boy! I'm sure you're baby will be fine, probably just a big head!

I hate that you're having to worry about this, but I wanted to let you know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure that as everyone else has said, it's just a case of a big noggin. I'm thinking of you...will be reading to see how things are going.
