Skipping Cycles

Sorry I haven't posted much, but I feel like there isn't much to say.

We decided to go for an IUI, but my cycle for November would put the IUI the Saturday after Thanksgiving and the office is closed. Then In all likelihood my next cycle will put me right around Christmas and my DH will be out of town visiting my Grandparents in Northern California. So it's crazy that my next cycle with medical help won't be until January.

Side note, I know I'm grasping for straws here, but has anyone ever heard of taking Do.ng Quai as an herbal suppliment to help with female fertility? It was recommended to me over a year ago, but I didn't want to mix my drugs (clomid) so I think I'll try it this cycle. I was told to take it day 7 through ovulation... I don't really know what it helps, but old wives tales seem to come from somewhere, so like I said, grasping at straws.

Other than that, I just can't believe Thanksgiving is in less than a week. It feels like there is always drama in any family and blending three (my husband's family, and then my parents are divorced) just takes a toll. But I'm looking forward to shopping the day after Thanksgiving something fierce. Not because I need a 4:00 Am bargain, but because I like feeling part of the hustle and bustle of the Holidays (that was very silver bells of me).

Alright ladies, enjoy the rest of the weekend!

IF treatments are like a part-time job...I know how hard it is working in education too... takes a lot of planning just to leave for half-day. It may be good to start treatments with the new year... holidays can put additional stress on a cycle. Good Luck!
One resource that helped me with reading about different herbs & other natural treatments was this fertility forum-http://forums.fertilitycommunity.com/
I search anything someone recommends and there is a lot of people who post their experiences there.
Enjoy the holidays and the busy shopping day... hope you also take some time for R&R:]

Sometimes a break is so great... mentally, physically, emotionally. And just think- you can drink over the Holidays! Yippee!

Cheers to us both!

who knows, maybe one of these non-medicated cycles will be it for you! i think the IUI is a good decision. test out the waters of major treatment before you jump in(IVF). good luck and let me know if you have any questions! im a pro now!

Yeah for a break!! Sometimes they are hard to take, but good to have.

I was recommended "FertileAid" by the checkout lady at Costco, but my dr had not heard of it... so I didn't invest.

Hope you find some insight.

I have a *little* bit of knowledge about Dong Quai. (I work for a supplement company that sells it along with a kajillion other herbs/vitamins.) And even though the scientist in me says that there's not much in the way of "solid" human research to support its effect on fertility, there's 100s of years of Traditional Chinese Medicine that says otherwise! My only caution would be to discontinue taking it after your IUI/cycle. Its effect on the developing embryo is a bit sketchy. (I'll end my seminar here!) If you want more info, drop me a note on my blog, ok?

Happy to have you back. *hugs*
